A Holistic Approach (1.5 hours, Online)

The lecture aims to provide an in-depth understanding of principles of recycling, starting from its history and evolution to the present day. The lecture will be divided into six parts, starting with "History of Recycling”, participants will learn about the beginning of recycling in history, the evolution of recycling practices over time, and key milestones and innovations in recycling technology.

We will explain the "7+1 R's" of waste management and the different types of recycling. Participants will learn about the different types of recycling, the types of materials that can be recycled, and the processes and techniques used for recycling different materials.

In a separate part of the seminar will focus on regulations, legislation, and standards related to recycling. Participants will learn about packaging regulations and legislation, RoHS, WEEE and Batteries regulations and legislation, Design of E&E Products regulations and legislation, and the Circular Economy Act. We also will explore the European GREEN DEAL and the TOX-FREE initiative and have a look into the future of Recycling.

Overall, the seminar aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the history, current state, and future of recycling, and to inspire them to be proactive in promoting sustainable recycling practices.
